Nintendo’s new console is also better suited for entertaining children and guests that may not be as interested in video games. The Switch’s JoyCon controllers can detect motion like the Wii’s remotes, opening up possibilities for more casual party games. The best example of this so far is 1,2 Switch, Nintendo’s launch title for the console, which requires players to compete in wacky challenges against one another using the JoyCon remotes.

Do what you never thought possible with Nintendo Switch. Go from single- and multi-player thrills at home, to playing the same title wherever and whenever you want. Simply attach the Joy-Con controllers to the bright, hi-def display and you’re all set. Or detach the controllers and give one to a friend for some on-the-go, local multiplayer action.

If you want to get the most out of your NBA game, grab the Legend edition gold, which comes with 250,000 VC, 40 MyTEAM Packs, Shaq digital items for your MyPLAYER, and more. This is all you could ask for out of this game for $83.

If it’s competitive multiplayer you’re after, look no further. This insane fighting game pits kaleidoscope-coloured, springy-armed combatants against each other in up to 4-player battles. There are 15 fighters with dozens of interchangeable arms. Mix and match to suit your play-style and take three pairs into battle. Use standard controls, or for an immersive fighting experience, grip one Joy-Con in each hand with your thumbs on the triggers. Tilt together to move, tilt in to block, and get punching.

The beautiful world of Hyrule, a massive playground that spans snowy mountains and lush forests, is under threat and you have to save it. Add an element of survival to the mix and you’ve got a masterclass in open-world gaming.

Out of the box, you can charge the two Joy-Con by sliding them on to the Switch tablet and then sliding the tablet into the Dock. It’s a fine solution if you’re putting away the console for the night, but it’s a pretty terrible solution if you’re in the middle of “Breath of the Wild” and your gamepad starts running out of juice.

Mechanically, the game works like the classics of the genre with lots of slow-paced obtuse puzzle solving and verb-list clicking. Even visually it’s very similar to the games that have influenced it.

So far, all we know is that Yoshi will be back into action in a new platforming title exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Visually, the video game looks to take some cues from the Paper Mario franchise but instead is focused on more construction-grade paper. For now, we’ll simply have to wait and see just what Nintendo has in-store.

However, do keep in mind your health and energy as you’ll need to make sure your character is in tip-top shape in order to avoid suffering from exhaustion. Lose health and you lose a considerable amount of money and items you’ve worked hard to attained. Stardew Valley will have you hooked for hours on end, for better or worse. (Better, definitely better.)

Players get two universes in one with this Switch game: Mario and Ubisoft’s Rabbids. The gameplay is easy to learn but still challenging and there are plenty of puzzles to conquer. The turn-based Mario + Rabbids is a great mix of comedy and strategy.

Race car driving meets soccer. Need I say more? The PlayStation 4’s most downloaded game of 2016 and one of the Xbox’s most-played games has made its way to the Nintendo Switch. The premise of Rocket League is almost painfully simple: chase down a giant ball and knock it into the goal. I say “chase down,” but nothing about a Rocket League match resembles a traditional car chase. What makes Rocket League so fun is that you’re constantly scrambling to jab the ball into the goal at any cost, which often means careening up the sides of the arena and tumbling through the air. The Switch version also has special Mario and Metroid-themed cars.

Below are the top eight best Nintendo Switch kids’ games. The list contains a diverse collection of games that cater to each different type of kid. Do they like Or maybe they like action/adventure games? Perhaps they just want something to tinker and play with all day without any obligations. Whatever they’re interested in, we have a Nintendo Switch game for them. Best of all, the games listed are fun for the whole family, so you and your kids can play together.

We’re not quite sure how the Nintendo Switch has managed it, but we’re not even getting started with all the games that the console has on offer. Overwhelming much? To help you decide what to buy for your brand spankin’ new console, we’ve listed the best titles available on the switch in ascending order from 25 to the hallowed number one spot. Oh, plus if even Bowser can’t hold back your excitement for Nintendo’s newest console, you’ll want to take a look at our upcoming Nintendo Switch games to see just what’s on the horizon.

There are several fighting video game titles that feature a tag-team system where players are able to go into a fight with multiple characters. During the match players will be able to switch between characters on-the-go or automatically switch to their secondary character once their starter is knocked out.

Some of us don’t want Wi-Fi getting in the way of our online gameplay, and while Switch doesn’t offer an Ethernet port in the tablet itself there’s a way to make sure you’re wired when connected to the dock.

When the Nintendo Switch launched in March, some jokingly called it a “Zelda machine.” That’s because there wasn’t much of a reason to buy the console other than to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

It’s not everyone that would have had the chance to enjoy Bayonetta 2 when it was first released back in 2014 thanks to its Wii U exclusivity. Fortunately, the game has finally come to Nintendo Switch alongside its fantastic predecessor, giving it the reach it deserves.

Pretty good system for videogame lovers! The library available for it right now it’s fantastic like Nintendo libraries always are, and it’s only going to get bigger and better. This system is definitely not perfect by any means, there is many flaws to this such as graphics, pricing, no apps whatsoever, you will need to go spend a couple hundred dollars on other stuff for the switch directly after you buy it. I would not recommend this system for any “hard-core” gamer or somebody who is willing to spend a few hundred dollars directly after buying it. For anybody else, it’s a no-brainer, although it is definitely not the best technology wise, it is the top videogame console out right now

Featuring battery life that can last over six hours, depending on the software and usage conditions. Games like The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild can be played for approximately three hours on a single charge. If you’re away from home you can charge the console using the USB Type-C connector.

Easily the oldest game on this list, the original Cave Story dates back to 2004. Essentially a homemade tribute to Metroid and Castlevania, that PC version was updated for the Wii and DS in 2010, and then enhanced for the PC and 3DS under the name Cave Story+ a year later. That’s the version that came to the Switch earlier this year. The same traits that made it so great in all its previous incarnations are present in the Switch port, but with the extra benefit of being playable on both a TV and on the go. This is the kind of long, intricate, Metroid-style game that’s incredibly tough to put down, making it a perfect fit on the portable Switch.

We’ll give you pointers on what to look for when shopping for games for your new console.

Chances are you’ve played Shovel Knight on one system or another in previous years, but if you’ve yet to take the game on the go, or better yet if you’re looking to try its newest expansion pack, ‘Specter of Torment’, then the Switch is as good a place as any to satisfy your Shovel cravings.

The Nintendo Switch officially went on sale this past March for $299.99. But it’s been difficult, if not impossible, for gamers to get their hands on the hot new console—especially at the regular price.

Another home console classic now given a new lease of life on Switch is LA Noire. It’s unusual to see 18-rated games on Nintendo consoles but it’s exciting that the Switch is building up a more mature library.

Super Meat Boy has been a sensation ever since it launched way back in 2010. Requiring unparalleled reflexes, superlative precision and the patience of a saint to overcome its incredible challenge, this is high-level 2D platforming at its finest.

Giving the old formula a bit of a refresh, this game sees the traditional Power Ups replaced with a new companion for Mario called Cappy. This sentient hat is Mario’s weapon and friend and he can be used to possess enemies and objects to solve puzzles and defeat foes.

If you protect your smartphone screen, think about doing the same for your Nintendo Switch. The amFilm tempered glass screen protector offers 99.9 percent screen transparency, so there should be no interference to your view while you dive into the latest Zelda quest. It’s cheap and effective.

Want to play games with other people? You can do this right out of the box, actually, by turning each of the Joy-Con on its side and using those as individual gamepads. It’s a less-than-great solution — they’re tiny, uncomfortable, and easily dropped.

the online retailer launched exclusive Nintendo Switch sales at midnight PST on March 3, for Prime members only. Stock was available as of an hour ago, but is now sold out. Keep checking for Amazon to restock the console. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available for 20% off for Prime members.

I think some people may be put off from Nintendo after the inconsistent performance of the Wii U. Personally, I enjoyed the Wii U as a system, and there are many fine games that came out on it. However, bigger titles were few and far between and Nintendo really seemed to abandon the system after it had a pretty cold reception. Historically, Nintendo systems have always done well because each new one offers something completely unique and different. The Wii for example, completely changed gaming with motion controls, much like the N64 did with including a Joystick on the controller that actually worked well and wasn’t cumbersome. The Wii U did step things up with an interactive touch screen tablet controller and great backwards compatibility to the Wii, but it seemed a little too tame to really shake things up in the gaming world like Nintendo often does.

With so many people missing out on the original Mario Kart 8 on the ill-fated Wii U, it’s great to see it get another chance on the Switch and with all the DLC thrown in too (hence the ‘Deluxe’). Race on over to GameStop to take a look.

You can always buy a nintendo product knowing its going to be good and quality made. I have no complaints at all about the system itself, there is a bit of a lack of games right now but not for long, theres a ton of amazing games coming out soon for it so im very happy with my switch. Zelda alone was worth the purchase of the system

Finally, not having any kind of backward compatibility with Wii U was a tough hit for the few of us that actually supported Nintendo during their hard times and had a Wii U. I would love to be able to import my digital games and saves from the last console (like the Wii U allowed to do from the Wii) but they completely ignored us. Considering that 2 of the best games of Switch are available on Wii U (Zelda and Mario Kart) and that another one is barely an expansion on a Wii U one (Splatoon 2 doesn’t add that much from Splatoon 1) you would think that it wouldn’t be that hard for them to at least give us Wii U players a discount for a digital version upgrade from a Wii U to Switch game.

I’ve been waiting very very patiently since the very beginning of march when the switch first came out to purchase one. Not once has either of the switches (red/blue, or grey) been available online or in stores. It’s been almost 2 whole months and I keep getting the “we sold the last one earlier today/yesterday”, “our last one just sold a few minutes ago”, “come back tomorrow”, and “check on our website daily” lines every time I go there and ask about it. Not once have either variations/editions of the system been available ever. Usually I’m really patient with this stuff, but I’m getting really frustrated that magically every employee at Best Buy has “sold the last one” minutes before I entered the store, and that none are ever available online. I even tried pre paying in advanced because I was told to do that by a friend of mine who bought a switch that way, and they wouldn’t accept that either. Such a shame Best Buy….such a shame.

The Switch is great for multiplayer games since you can stand up the screen and split the controller between players. In fact, up to eight controllers can be used with one console. Speaking of the controller – which Nintendo calls “Joy-Con” – it can be used vertically or sideways with traditional buttons, motion control, or a combination of the two.

Third-party game support has been Nintendo’s Achilles heel in the past, but it’s making a big effort to change that out of the gate with the Switch. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was among the first games to be announced for the Switch back in January. Bethesda’s massive open-world adventure game may be about six years old now, but since the Switch is portable, it’s the first time you’ll be able to stay glued to the game even when you’re not at home. It also takes advantage of the Joy-Con’s motion controls for things like lock-picking and aiming and firing your bow. Such minor differences may not be enough to convince previous players to return to Skyrim on the Switch, but it’s worth considering for Nintendo loyalists who may not have had the chance to play it yet.

Console bundles have been getting a lot of coverage lately, with Microsoft and Sony in particular offering major deals on Xbox One and PSVR bundles this month. The new Xbox One PUBG bundle is already discounted from $299.99 to $249, after only being on the market for a few days. An Xbox One Madden NFL 18 bundle is down to $229.99 now that football season is over. All PSVR bundles are discounted $100 until March 3. When it comes to Nintendo Switch bundles, pretty much anything you can get is better than nothing. Grab a free travel case when you pick up the Switch at Walmart.

Extremely practical device. It’s power and versatility make up for the slightly lofty expense. The switch is an entertainment machine through and through which will only become better once more games and content release during its lifespan.

Jet has the Switch for varying prices, depending on how many you buy, and free shipping. You can also find it at Chunk Toys. Its prices change from week to week, but typically the console goes for around $450 to $500. Chuck offers various shipping options.

The “good” news is that there aren’t many games worth buying at the launch of the Switch. The one game everyone will be talking about, “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” is a true delight. It’s also $60.

Much like our Yoshi pick in this list, Kirby is another fan-beloved character from Nintendo who has starred in his own video game titles for a number of years now. The Nintendo Switch will soon have its own Kirby video game title in 2018 as well with Kirby Star Allies.

There’s so much to like about Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers it is hard to know where to begin. From its engorged character roster (there are 19 combatants) to its excellent selection of game modes including a slick multiplayer suite, and onto its plethora of neat extras including new and improved graphics and sound options (you can switch between old and new), colour editor, replay system, beginner-friendly “Lite” control option and art-stuffed gallery mode, this classic versus fighter is better than ever on Nintendo Switch.

The best example of this so far is 1,2 Switch, Nintendo’s launch title for the console, which requires players to compete in wacky challenges against one another using the JoyCon remotes.

Nicely, the whole game can also be played with more traditional buttons rather than control schemes so you don’t have to get caught flailing your arms around on the bus when you play it as a portable game.

Another home console classic now given a new lease of life on Switch is LA Noire. It’s unusual to see 18-rated games on Nintendo consoles but it’s exciting that the Switch is building up a more mature library.

Mario is also featured prominently in the top 10. Mario Kart 7 remains 3DS’s second-best-selling game, with 15.95 million copies sold. New Super Mario Bros. 2 caps off the top five at 11.73 million, while Super Mario 3D Land trails behind it slightly at 11.40 million.

While the Switch port of Pokkén Tournament DX adds a few new elements into the mix, such as a daily challenge, wireless multiplayer and a handful of extra characters, it is very much the same game as ever. So that’s a surprisingly nuanced brawler that’s as much for genre veterans as it is for anyone who fancies pummeling Pikachu’s face into an adorable mush. With a proper mainline Pokémon confirmed for Switch sometime in the not too distant future, consider Pokkén Tournament DX as a fun taster of greater things to come.

Zelda is awesome, but this console does not come cheap let alone the add-ons and even games cost more…On the other hand the portability of full console game releases is at this time a unique thing within the video games marketplace. Playing a full scale Zelda title cruising on a King streetcar downtown T.O. is a crazily futuristic experience and I love it, having said that I must also say this console is in serious need of some more titles of a similar caliber to Zelda, and soon. But wait, here comes Mario Kart 8 Online…. (reaches for empty wallet)

Odyssey is a phenomenal new 3D entry that builds upon the likes of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy with huge, open environments and loads upon loads of collectible moons to uncover by completing challenges and exploring. And this time around, Mario isn’t alone: his hat is actually an odd creature that can inhabit other living things, letting Mario control and use the myriad abilities of his many iconic enemies. Strange, right? Yes, but it’s a total delight.

Retailers like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Toys R Us, and GameStop are getting new Switch supplies in stores here and It’s worth popping in to see if you get lucky, and worth chatting up store managers, with the hope they’ll tip you off about an upcoming shipment. For example, this Sunday, Target is reportedly getting shipments — but how many at each store is anyone’s guess.

The same price applies to games like “Skylanders Imaginators,” though there are a small handful of lower-priced games (“Snipperclips” is $19.99, for instance). But let’s be honest: You’re going to want “Zelda.”

If you’re going to be taking your Switch on the go (and who isn’t?) then you probably want a good case to keep it protected. The Mumba Nintendo Switch case is a sturdy, rubber case that has a good grip to minimize the chance you’ll drop it. And should the unthinkable happen, the bumper is made of shock-handling thermoplastic polyurethane to keep your baby safe.

If challenging run-and-jump games aren’t your thing, Celeste might just win you over anyway. Otherworldly and endearing, Celeste follows a pixel-art character on a journey up a mountain, encouraging you through its fiendish, treacherous areas with affirmations and optimism. A tough game with an uplifting message: don’t let the voice inside your head tell you that you can’t do things.

Hi I have recently decided to sell my switch only bought a couple months ago played it only a handful of times. Comes with everything in the picture and it also has a screen protector applied. It is …

The Nintendo Switch is gaining momentum with the role-playing game genre and has a promising future with over 50 third-party independent developers offering support. Like the days before it with previous Nintendo consoles, the Switch is on a journey to return to form, allowing for more role-playing games to its console. And there are already role-playing games released and lined up that are ready for any RPG enthusiast to dive into.

The new game is also a great way of playing the game in multiplayer. You can play online, split-screen with up to four players or link up to eight consoles together to play multiplayer wirelessly (where you can also play with up to two players per console).

You’ll see mainstays like the absolutely incredible Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild make our roundup, but there’s lots more to play besides that and Super Mario Odyssey. Instead of listing each and every game we love here, we’ve put together a list below for your perusing pleasure. To keep it at a manageable number, we’ve had to kick some games we love to the curb, but you should totally still go and find them and play them – we’ve included past entrants in a tidy list at the end too.

While Nintendo traditionally designs its flagship consoles just for at-home play, the Switch is meant to be portable as well. A tablet smaller than an iPad mini houses the system’s core technology, allowing you to take the Switch on the go or slide it into its accompanying dock for TV gaming.

Pokken Tournament DX is like the Pokemon Stadium evolution a lot of us dreamed about as kids. On top of looking great and featuring exclusive fighters not in the arcade version, DX most importantly adds something that’s been sorely missing from Pokken: portability. 3D Pokemon fights on the go are a dream come true, and new 3v3 battles (on top of the standard 1v1) are a quick pick-up-and-play way to learn the battle system. A story mode, online battles, and the ability to pour skill points into Pokemon to increase their skills make this the definitive version of Pokken and one of the best fighting games on Switch. – Andrew Goldfarb

The nintendo switch is awesome as a handheld and as a day-to-day home console. I have been playing Legend Of Zelda BOTW non-stop XD. Theswitch is godlike compared to the Wii U. Great decision. worth the price

The Nintendo Switch has been wowing gamers since its release with its hybrid game console that goes from a hand-held device to a stationary system with incredible graphics and motion-sensor controllers. But are the games any good, and are they OK for kids? Luckily, this family-friendly console has loads of excellent games, including top-rated titles from popular Nintendo franchises like The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario. So whether you’re playing by yourself or as a family, you’ll want to check out this list of the best Switch games for all ages. And for more game ideas for the whole family, try our list of Wii Games Families Love to Play Together.

Ideal for all ages The game takes a long time to load from when you start up the game to the start menu. But this can be avoided by loading the game up beforehand when you get into the game world and leaving it in sleep mode.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a turn-based tactical role-playing video game where kids are encouraged to rely on their critical thinking skills. The game features both single and multiplayer modes and features characters from the beloved Mario and Raving Rabbids series.

Also, unlike some other cases, the Hori Tough Pouch strikes a gentle balance between protection and convenience. Because you only put your Switch into it when you’re done playing, it doesn’t change how you grip the console or its Joy-Con controllers.

No, you’re not mad. Combining golf with a 16-bit style RPG shouldn’t work. And yet, amazingly, it does. This is a charming sporting adventure that even non-sports fans will enjoy. At the very least, it should keep you busy until Nintendo inevitably lets Mario and Bowser bring the five-iron to the Nintendo Switch.

This has been one of the best games on the Nintendo Switch so far and an absolute must for Mario and platforming fans. Like Zelda below though, this being a first-party Nintendo title, it’s taking forever to go down in price. It’s slowly happening though, so we’ve rounded up the cheapest Super Mario Odyssey prices for you below. If you’re not getting this game in a bundle, we’d strongly advise picking it up separately as soon as possible.

Possibly not! Remember how the Joy-Con controller splits in two? Turn them sideways and you get two basic controllers, each with their own analogue stick and face buttons – the d-pad acts as face functions on the left controller. So far we’ve seen 2K’s NBA series, Snipper Clips and Mario Kart being used this way for local multiplayer in both docked and tablet modes. So you get multiplayer functionality straight out of the box with no additional purchase required.

Turn-based combat has been at the core of nearly every popular Pokémon video game. But when Pokkén Tournament debuted for the Wii U in 2016, players got their first taste of what it’s like to battle Pokémon melee-style outside of the few playable characters in Super Smash Bros. The new version of Bandai Namco’s Tekken and Pokémon mashup brawler for the Switch is even better, especially considering it addresses some of its predecessors’ biggest shortcomings. Most notably, Pokkén Tournament DX adds more playable Pokémon and a new three versus three team battle mode, among other changes.

Thumper’s difficulty is suffocating. Along with the oppressive music and the stark graphics, it turns the game into a claustrophobic, stressful, frightening experience. It rattles around inside my brain when I’m not playing it, its velocity and brutality careening throughout as I try to unwind after playing. Thumper taps into art’s ability to alter our introducing a new reality for us to get lost in, and it’s not afraid to let this dream world look and feel like a nightmare. Most rhythm games want to replicate the best time you could possibly have at a rave; Thumper wants you to feel like you’re shaking on the floor of a bathroom stall, praying for those weird shapes and sounds that surround you to go away. It is an essentially perfect realization of its own unique goals and concerns, and a game we’ll be playing and celebrating for decades.

If you’re looking for a fun, accessible and downright hilarious multiplayer experience on Nintendo Switch, look no further than Snipperclips. With a Joy-Con in hand, you and up to four friends can work together or duke it out in a series of addictively creative puzzles.

ThinkGeek has 10 different Switch bundles that you can preorder, starting at around $400. Eight other preorder sets have already sold out. The bundles will become available in late August and early September.

With the Nintendo Switch, where you play Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2 is up to you. That freedom puts your console at risk. The more you carry it, the more opportunities you have to drop it and break its screen. Even if you don’t break its display, expect scratches to appear if you don’t cover your device in the best Nintendo Switch cases and the best Nintendo Switch screen protectors you can buy. Even the Joy-Cons need protection. The motion sensors in these $49.99 controllers could break after one drop without any protection.

I love how portable it is to take console quality gaming on the go. Battery life is fairly good. The screen is tough to see when playing in the sunlight and the stock controller can not recharge the joycons. Instead you need to purchase a separate joycon charging grip which is the exact same thing but with a cutout for USB C. I feel like Nintendo could of added this into the original controller that is boxed with the system.

I am Setsuna is a story about a perpetual winter that centers around a mercenary and a maiden named Setsuna who must sacrifice herself to save her people. The game has a heavy theme of sadness and evokes 1990s style RPG gameplay using an active time battle system similar to Chrono Trigger.

Wonderful console! Love every second of playing this. Legend of Zelda was worth the purchase alone. Was a bit skeptical of getting it first day (managed to pre order) but Best Buy delivered on time, was very satisfied and relived. Any one on the fence about this console should get it.

As a “match-three” game, Battle Chef Brigade goes above and beyond the Anime characters are superimposed on soft backgrounds featuring wet washes of paint pooled over textured paper, set to a lilting orchestral soundtrack not unlike a Miyazaki score. The combat segments, which from a distance may seem tacked-on, are not only well-incorporated mechanically, but also provide immense satisfaction with the fluidity and power of Mina’s attacks. Despite the time limit on each battle, the back and forth between two sources of panic—quickly cooking a dish to the judge’s specifications versus killing monsters for key ingredients—is actually pretty fun. The complexity of solving puzzles contrasts the no-brain hacking and slashing for a very welcome change of pace.—Holly Green

While its unique hybrid design is a big part of its success, the console’s large library of games has to be credited too. Novelty won’t shift units forever – it’s games that will keep the Switch flying off the shelves.

Are you checking out Nintendo’s new console, hoping to make the “Switch”? These are the best looking games that are coming out for the Nintendo Switch – we just aren’t sure when. They don’t have to be launch titles, they just have to be coming sometime soon for Nintendo’s ambitious new handheld. Welcome to http://watchmojo.com and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Nintendo Switch Games That Look Promising!

Before we jump in, a quick word on criteria. The primary question this top 25 list is intended to answer is simple: “What are the 25 best games we played on this platform?” How much fun we had with the games is obviously our primary concern, but we also considered elements like longevity/staying power, influence, and innovation. Also, this list consists of games released before November 1, 2017.

Nintendo’s online gaming service is currently free for a trial period, but will become a subscription service in 2018. The service will cost $20 per year in the US (about £15 or AU$30). Prices for other countries have yet to be announced. Nintendo says almost all of the games will need a paid service subscription to play online.

Switch has been selling quite well since the console debuted earlier this year; according to Nintendo’s latest earnings report, the system has sold 7.63 million units worldwide through the end of September. Nintendo also says the console is on track to outpace Wii U’s entire lifetime sales by the end of its first year on the market.

This sometimes top-down, sometimes 2D side-scroller is a remade game from the early days of the NES. Blaster Master Zero follows the same ridiculous premise as the original but adds new weapons, areas, and bosses into the mix. We thought this remake was a little easy overall but, whether you’re fighting in the Sophia III tank or on foot as a soldier, there’s plenty of powerups and secrets to uncover.

Thumper taps into art’s ability to alter our consciousness, introducing a new reality for us to get lost in, and it’s not afraid to let this dream world look and feel like a nightmare.

When you open the Switch box, it feels you are about to start playing with Lego, because of all the parts that come with it. It has a door on the back which lets you slide in an HDMI cable and the power cord, both included, and some USB ports on the sides and on the back probably for future addons. I guess because it’s half portable, the Switch does not have a network adapter, and you instead have to connect wirelessly and hope your network connection isn’t bad. Or you could just buy a Nintendo Wii (U) USB network adapter to plug it in one of the back USB ports. It’s not the base that is the console; the base is basically a piece of plastic with a small part of it to display graphics on your TV and to charge your Switch. It is the tablet that is the console. There’s a flap thingy that pops open on the back of the console; it lets you place it upright, except it covers the micro-SD card slot to protect your storage. Rather unfortunate that it doesn’t come with one. The Switch can’t handle more than 25 GB of internal storage either, so long-term, you might want to invest in one of these. There is also a little spot to click game cards in, which are small enough to be swallowed by children and pets. But Nintendo coated the game cards with a non-toxic substance that makes them taste quite bitter. There are two controllers called “joy cons” with four face buttons, two shoulder buttons, two side buttons and an analog stick each. Although technically you can combine both by sliding them in the tablet or the controller grip to make it one controller with 8 face buttons and two analog sticks, as well as 4 shoulder buttons, with the side buttons covered by the rails where you slide them in. If you have big hands like me, sliding them in and out of the wrist straps in particular is quite the challenge, because the joy-cons are pretty small and will slip off your hands while you attempt this for the first time, making it difficult to get a grip and pushing multiple buttons on the controller besides the release ones. The Switch lets you jump right in to start playing games instead of wasting your time installing things. Well, if you have games then that’s nice. Sadly, that’s where the fun ends if you don’t. The Switch includes no games, not even something pre-installed. If you want a game, then Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is about the only one worth getting right now. You could’ve also bought Zelda on Wii U if you had one though. Big titles like Splatoon 2 are coming sometime, as well as remakes of golden games like Skyrim if you’ve never played them and want a chance to do so while on the go. That’s what made me get one; being able to play large single player games besides anywhere. The Switch does this well, the console is cool. It is fun to learn how to use it, and begins to click once you start using it, and actually the clicks that you hear from the controller and the console is probably the best hardware design. A good audio cue that lets you know you did something right without breaking the console. That’s essentially what best describes the Switch when you first get it; you’re pushing things, sliding things, clicking things, and putting them in from wherever you find you can. But the games, aside from Zelda, are lacking. Pros: – Small gamecards taste bad, making them child and pet-proof – Great parental controls allow for time tracking of playtime – Fun and intuitive to learn how to use, great introductory tutorial and built-in help topics – Synchronization of your Nintendo Account with your friends list across different Nintendo apps. – Easy to use interface, easy to set up, easy to plug in – Two controllers included, can be combined and be used as one, or split into two to play with a friend. A bit annoying but not the end of the world: – Tablet gets dirty quickly, no screen protector included – No network plug included, requires a

The Nintendo Switch is now officially the fastest selling console of all time. After a sellout first year, it’s still on wishlists the world over, but it’s gradually finding its way back into the shops. Whether you’ve had yours since launch or you’re about to click in those iconic Joy-Cons for the first time, we’re here to help you find the best Switch games on the market right now.

Super Mario Kart has always been a staple of Nintendo’s consoles, and there are plenty of reasons to pick up the latest installment for the Switch even if you’ve played Super Mario Kart 8. The Deluxe version introduces new characters like the Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy from Splatoon and an updated Battle Mode that includes new gameplay styles. Combine that with smaller updates like the ability to hold two items at a time and play with others without an extra controller, and you’ve got a game that substantially differentiates itself from its predecessor.

By far the best racing game ever, especially for kids, is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch. Both kids and parents alike can enjoy the long-established series of Mario Kart, as the game is filled with classic tracks, characters and that familiar rush from previous iterations. Just make sure that no one gets too into it – it’s that fun.

Along with Yoshi, Luigi, and Peach, Mario joins forces with the Rabbids (who started life in Rayman and went on to star in their own series) to solve puzzles and and fight enemies in a world that combines elements from both franchises.

The Nintendo Switch is approaching a year of existence and, what was once an incredibly underserved console is now overflowing with games to pick up and play. Trying to find titles on the eShop can be an absolute farce, but don’t worry, we’ve got your back with our guide to the best Nintendo Switch games around.

Managed to snag one of these in store on the first day, along with Zelda and switch 1-2. In mobile mode or working like a tablet, it is excellent – with amazing graphics, excellent controls. Docked and connected to a TV is also excellent. Beware that because of the way the controllers attach and detach, there are a couple of detachable cover pieces that you will need to take care of or risk losing. Overall, it looks like Nintendo has a winner with this one.

You’re probably dying to get your hands on one. Well, hold up — it’s hard to come by. Here’s what you need to know about snagging the magically versatile gaming system, which has a suggested retail price of $300, £280 or AU$470.

The official Nintendo-made case lets you store a Switch with a Joy-Con and offers a 3DS-style elastic holster that stores up to 14 game cards. It also comes with a microfiber cleaning cloth, which probably has the Switch logo on it somewhere. For $15, you can’t ask for much more.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was one of the first games available for the Switch, and it’s still the best reason to pick up Nintendo’s new console. With its lush woodlands and sun-soaked mountains, the scenery alone is enough to impress. The best part of this game is that you can actually explore all of it — and you absolutely should. Where Breath of the Wild differs from most Zelda games is that it’s about survival just as much as it’s about completing puzzles and defeating Ganon. When your health runs low, you have to hunt and cook meals to replenish it. If Link enters an area that’s too cold or warm, he’ll have to concoct an elixir or find the right clothing to stop his health from dropping. Of course, the crux of the storyline hinges on stopping Ganon, but in order to do so you must free all of the Divine Beasts while scouting out towers and solving puzzle-ridden shrines along the way. Breath of the Wild takes the strategy and puzzle-solving skills that were always necessary for success in Zelda games to an entirely new level.

Below that you’ll find the best value Nintendo Switch bundles with games/accessories. Don’t forget, if you’re buying the console on its own, the RRP is $299/£279, so you don’t want to pay more than that unless you’re getting some extras.

TOKYO — Nintendo Co Ltd on Friday priced its first console in about four years above market expectations, disappointing investors and clouding its prospects of winning back gamers who have shifted from consoles to smartphones.

Mario Kart 8 began its life on Nintendo Wii U, however, the Deluxe edition on Switch is the ultimate version of the game, with all DLC included as well as enhanced multiplayer functionality. Mario and his chums handle just as well as ever, while the presentation and polish applied to the mixture of classic and new racing circuits is first rate. With a massive selection of racing tiers too, from 50cc up to 200cc, with mirror modes thrown in as well to boot, the game is super approachable no matter your age or skill.

So you’re one of the lucky gamers to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch. Like any other new gaming setup, you’ll probably want to grab some accessories to go along with it. Whether it’s a case, controller, or stand, you’ll find that just the right addition can make your Switch setup more complete.

This is a nice add to my video game collection. I am enjoying the different modes this console can be played in and have taken on a trip already. The Switch is very comfortable and makes for a great gaming experience on the go.

Below you’ll find the best role-playing Nintendo Switch games. Games range from classic hits to odes to the 16-bit era and a first party Nintendo game that is already winning hearts. Sure there will be more RPG games available in the future, but these are our favorites right now.

The Nintendo Switch is the hottest console out right now, and it’s not showing any signs of slowing down. Nintendo’s hybrid machine is home to such hits as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2, all of which you can enjoy on your big TV or take on the go. And with a diverse library that includes indies like Stardew Valley and Rocket League and mature AAA romps like Doom and Bayonetta, you’ll have no trouble finding something that suits your tastes.

Project Octopath Traveler, which is currently still a working title, is an upcoming RPG title by developers Square Enix and Acquire. The video game will be a 2D 16-bit style RPG where players will control a part of eight different characters, all of which will have a role to play and reason for their journey.

The Nintendo Switch is by far the most dissapointing Nintendo console they ever made. The lack of games is the biggest problem. There are very few games on the console and the best games , Zelda Breath of the wild and Mario Kart 8 are also available on the Wii U system which makes it even more useless. There is also many rports of problems with the stand and scratch made to the screen and problems with the controllers. I dont recommend buying this console unless you are a huge Nintendo fan.

Hi I have recently decided to sell my switch only bought a couple months ago played it only a handful of times. Comes with everything in the picture and it also has a screen protector applied. It is …

Created by Rockstar, LA Noire is a 1940s detective title which puts players in the smart leather shoes of Cole Phelps. As Phelps, you’ll dive into the seedy underbelly of LA, solving a variety of cases across the LAPD’s Homicide, Vice and Arson divisions.

Led by former Castlevania series producer, Koji Igarashi, comes the upcoming action-adventure game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The video game is in the style of Metroidvania as you explore, craft new weapons, and of course, find new armor.

Nope, this is a game that’s all about that multiplayer, where you can play with up to eight players locally or online. It’s here the game feels most at home, and for the most part its every bit as good as the classic Bombermans that have proceeded it.

Looking for a cheap Nintendo Switch with at least one game? We’ve seen this bundle for less, but if the other bundles sell out, then this is a decent alternative, especially as Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is still quite new. This is available with the red/blue edition of the Nintendo Switch at Currys.

One of the core benefits of the Nintendo Switch is that it’s a portable system. Of course, that means you’ll be battling against that most formidable of enemies – battery life. The Antank Portable Switch Battery case offers 6500mAh of additional charging power, which more than doubles your on-the-go play time without adding an overly significant amount of bulk or weight. It strikes the right balance between battery capacity and portability. Also, this case has enough durability that it will add in some extra protection for your Switch.

This is a turn-based tactical game and it’s incredibly fun to play thanks to gameplay that’s satisfyingly complex and deep without being overly difficult – though the difficult increases it’s in a gradual way that doesn’t result in feelings of being overwhelmed.

Honestly, I was a little worried about Sonic Mania. SEGA and Sonic Team have burnt me in the past, perhaps one too many times. I needn’t have worried though. Sonic Mania is a stunning return to form for the blue hedgehog. While playing on the Switch doesn’t really put Nintendo’s console through its technical paces, the crisp sprites and bright colours of Sonic really help show off just how vibrant and crisp the Switch’s 720p display is. It’s perfect portable gaming magic.

If you were lucky enough to snag one as a stocking filler over Xmas, here are the games you should be playing on your shiny new gaming machine. And make sure to check back for new additions to this regularly updated list.

The BlazBlue franchise has been a strong fighting series over the years with the latest upcoming release being BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle by development studio, Arc System Works. This time around the video game will feature 2v2 battles with a tag-in system.

What are the best games on Nintendo Switch? That’s a big question for any platform, and a very fun one to answer. During the process of putting together this list of Switch games, we took the following criteria into account: 1) How much fun we had at home and on the go with these games, 2) We weighed elements like longevity/staying power, influence, and innovation, 3) We opted for new games or ports with added content over games that were straight ports.

With the Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you will be able to hit the road and play anytime, anywhere. The game gives you an opportunity to race with your friends or battle them in a revised battle mode on new and returning battle courses. Ideally, you will be able to play locally in up to 4-palyer multiplayer.

A stylish mansion-based murder mystery in which you turn back the clock to save masked attendees of a flamboyant party from grisly The Sexy Brutale is all about piecing things together: where people go, what they do, and how you can invisibly intervene to change what happens, like removing the ammunition from a wall-mounted shotgun that’s about to be used in a confrontation. Macabre and compelling.

The Nintendo Switch launches today, the Japanese console maker’s first new system in four years. Here’s a list of brick and mortar and online retailers selling the Nintendo Switch, which has pricing at $399.99 CAD MSRP.

I don’t think anyone could read Charlie Hall’s enthusiastic piece about returning to Magic: The Gathering without wanting to get in on the action. MTG has always been super intimidating to me, but I picked up the Mind vs. Might Duel Deck from my local shop this weekend and had a blast. To start building your own deck, grab a Deckbuilder’s Toolkit that has everything you need to get going.

“The machine can be used both as a home console and handheld device so the higher price is understandable to some extent, but there aren’t really enough software titles to justify that start price,” he said.

Sonic’s latest adventure feels perfectly at home on the Switch. It looks and feels just like the Genesis games you remember from your childhood, filled with tricky traps, dizzying loops that you traverse at breakneck speed, and familiar allies like Tails and Knuckles. Some of the stages even feel untouched, like Chemical Plant and Lava Reef. But there are enough surprises and extra flourishes that makes Mania feel like the perfect balance of freshness and nostalgia.

Clearly spawned from a desire to recreate the magic of Wii Sports Boxing, ARMS is a peculiar fighting game with a difference. Holding a Joy-Con controller in each hand, you trade blows with a foe by literally swinging your fists. Thanks to Nintendo’s work building the Joy-Cons, it’s surprisingly accurate and – by customising your fighter’s interchangeable fists – it’s an incredibly accomplished fighter. The inclusion of same-screen, local and online multiplayer is also a nice little bonus and there’s plenty of mini-games and unlockables to keep single-player fans happy too. Nintendo also continually keep updating ARMS with new fighters while balancing its old roster so you’re never short of stuff to do.

If you’re a fan of detective stories then L.A. Noire is definitely worth your time, as the game tasks you with solving a number of crimes in the Homicide, Vice and Arson divisions of the LAPD. How you tackle each case though is completely up to you, with various options and outcomes possible. Interrogating witnesses or potential suspects plays a major part in the game, and determining who is telling the truth and who is lying critical to getting the job done properly. Naturally, for a Rockstar game, there is also plenty of firefights. This enhanced Switch version of the game is not only full fat and truly portable, but comes stacked with all of the game’s previously released DLC.

With long-running series like Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing, Nintendo has developed an audience for games of the life simulator variety. That’s part of the reason Chucklefish and ConcernedApe’s Stardew Valley feels like such a natural fit on the Switch. Gameplay that involves planting crops as you watch your plot of land flourish into a prosperous farm is just the type of experience that works brilliantly on mobile. And since the Switch pulls double duty as a handheld device and a console, you can get that portability without the compromises that can come with using touchscreen-only controls.

Convenience: Before you buy a Nintendo switch game, make sure it is handheld and can be used anywhere, at any time. In fact, most people go for these games because of their portability. Remember, fun is everywhere and so you will want to take the game with you.

Chances are you are totally unprepared for the slithery platforming at the heart of Snake Pass because it’s unlike anything else out there. The inventive controls put you in control of a snake and it completely changes your perspective on how to get around. The initial learning process is challenging, but the joyful soundtrack, colorful world, and collectibles will keep you coming back for more.

The Switch is more proof that technology is definitively getting to the convergence of stationary and mobile. It is a very delicate balance among portability and performance, Ergonomically, the device is a huge success, I can play for hours and my hands can manage it without any issue, much more comfortable than a 3DS-XL. The joysticks and buttons are at the true minimal size to preserve functionality while ensuring compactness. Screen size is also at the right dimensions to avoid being too small and provide enough detail at 720P. I have played with it mostly on portable mode, once in a while plugged to recharge as playing. A few times played on the TV, going back quickly to portable to enjoy the opportunity to play on bed. My only major concern is the limited battery size, I wish Nintendo could just add a few extra grams and getting a more useful 4-5 hrs playing time.

If you’ve been playing Minecraft: Nintendo Edition, you may have discovered that you can’t split your Joy-Con controller to share with a friend in multiplayer mode. Looks like it’s time to invest in that second L/R Joy-Con pack. These Joy-Cons are almost as elusive as the Switch itself, especially the neon model, but they are still available at some places, and restock faster than the Switch.

There are, of course, important differences to consider. The game selection for Nintendo’s DS lineup is already much larger than the Switch’s, and it includes popular titles from well-known franchises like Pokémon and Fire Emblem that aren’t on Nintendo’s home consoles. If those games are a selling point, you may still opt for a DS even if you already plan on buying the Switch. Plus, some DS models are small enough to fit into a pocket or small purse, while the Switch is better suited for larger handbags, messenger bags, and backpacks. But those who already carry a larger bag to work and just want to play games like Zelda and Mario on their commute will likely find no reason to buy both a Switch and a DS.

bought this for myself and my for my kid, though my kid is using it almost all time. It’s a great system when you can take it with you on the go if you want. The games are a lot more creative and interesting than those you would normally play on phones/tablets. As a dad, it really gives more time to play because of it’s portability. It would almost be impossible to sit down and be allowed to play continuously if you have a young family.

Happen to see Best Buy had some in stock and ordered mine without any problems and received it the following week. Thank you, Best Buy. Not enough games at the moment but I bought it for Zelda and Mario for now. Zelda: Breath of the Wild is beautiful game…by far the best Zelda to date.

A sequel to the cult 3DS release, Steamworld Dig 2 has you digging and drilling through a large underground world, gathering resources and searching for the lost hero from the first title. The gradual, natural progression through the underworld is very satisfying as you gather, upgrade and explore, and the steampunk-western aesthetic is beguiling.

That port is on the bottom, which is inaccessible when the Switch is propped up on a table with the kickstand. HORI’s $13 Compact Playstand raises the Switch up off the ground with a cutout for the charging cable so you can keep your game going while it’s juicing up. Plus, the stand collapses down flat so you can take it on the go without it taking up too much space.

“From the most objective perspective we could muster here at T3 Towers – and trust us, when you’ve played titles such as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past during your formative years, that is an incredibly hard thing to do – we feel it is quite evident that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is, by quite a distance, the best The Legend of Zelda game ever made. And, what’s more, for those people for who Breath of the Wild will be their first foray into the wonderful world of Hyrule, Zelda and Link, it is going to absolutely blow their minds.”

Nintendo Switch is the innovative gaming console that provides a fun, immersive gaming experience anywhere, anytime. Whether you’re kicking back at home in front of the TV or out with friends, Nintendo Switch gives you the full single player or multiplayer gaming experience. Now your favourite games can go everywhere you do.

The coolest thing about the Switch is how you can take it anywhere. It differentiates itself from other home gaming consoles this way. Unlike the Wii U, the previous system by the same company, you can take the tablet console anywhere you want without having to be within the proximity of the charging station, since the entire system is this tablet. It’s a nice option for those like me who have more time to play on a handheld rather than consoles. If you do plan on taking it to places, I recommend investing on a screen protector and a carry case to protect the system. The two controllers that come included are the joy-cons, which can be used in a variety of ways depending on the game. Simple games will let you use a single controller and attach a wrist wrap which serves as a grip for the otherwise small controller, while more complicated games allow you to combine both controllers and use them as one. When using the two controllers, you can play with them on the sides of the Switch as well, although I find the Switch to be a bit heavy to hold for long periods of time, and the controllers on their own are too small to grip properly if you have big hands. Not to mention, the battery life of the Switch depletes faster when the joy-cons are connected to it, because they are being charged as they are connected. I recommend everyone to play with the joy-con grip, which is basically like using a standard controller, and also saves more battery. The Switch’s online service is offered for free until Fall, which then requires a paid subscription long-term, much like Microsoft’s Xbox Live service. Once games like Splatoon 2 start using the online component, the quality will determine whether it is worth paying the price for the subscription. The console doesn’t offer much more beyond playing games. There’s a news section to keep you updated on games or other Nintendo products, and there’s an e-shop for buying digital games that live right on your Switch’s internal storage. You can’t watch Youtube, Netflix, or even browse the net in it like you could with the Wii U or Nintendo 3DS. At the time of this review, other great games that have been announced have yet to be released. The device only comes with 32GB of internal storage, the same as their previous console despite being a newer product. Long term, you’ll have to invest on a Micro SD card if you plan on taking screenshots or buying lots of games. I quite enjoy the Switch; it is a neat concept and is well built. It is clear that the system focuses on letting you play games wherever you want, sacrificing other features for the games. There are a few things about it that are lacking; good games will eventually come, but there’s also the online service which will cost and the low internal storage. I recommend other gamers to invest on a Switch mostly for its unique handheld advantage.

Super Meat Boy has been a sensation ever since it launched way back in 2010. Requiring unparalleled reflexes, superlative precision and the patience of a saint to overcome its incredible challenge, this is high-level 2D platforming at its finest.

Another home console classic now given a new lease of life on Switch is LA Noire. It’s unusual to see 18-rated games on Nintendo consoles but it’s exciting that the Switch is building up a more mature library.

The Switch’s biggest shortcoming is its online chat function in the Nintendo Switch Online app. For one thing, it only works with Splatoon 2. Another is the fact that you can’t use online chatting at all directly from the Switch. You have to use a second device, like an iPhone. Here’s where SteelSeries saves the day. They updated their most popular headset, the Arctis 3 with Bluetooth support. Not only that, but they also made the Arctis 3 capable of combining audio from two different devices. So, you can plug them directly into your Switch for in-game audio, plus connect them to your iPhone via Bluetooth so you can talk to friends through your preferred online chat channels like Discord. It’s truly the best of both worlds.

Major retailers such as GameStop, Target, Walmart and Best Buy as well as Nintendo’s flagship New York store all carry the new console, though some locations have better stock than others. We recommend following your retailer of choice on social media as well as calling up your nearest brick-and-mortar shops often to get the latest updates on availability.

Nintendo said more than 50 game software makers are developing 80 titles for the Switch. Of those, eight will be available at the time of launch in Japan, including “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”

Also much like the Yoshi title, not too many details have been released for Kirby Star Allies quite yet. We know that the video game will have players taking the role of Kirby with the ability to throw stars at enemies to essentially turn them into Kirby’s allies. Outside of that, you can still expect the same traditional move set from past Kirby titles such as inhale, star spit, slide attack, air-gun, among others.

“The machine can be used both as a home console and handheld device so the higher price is understandable to some extent, but there aren’t really enough software titles to justify that start price,” he said.

Don’t underestimate this Wii U classic. It’s had an upgrade for the Switch. Decidueye brings the total playable Pokemon to 21 and Litten and Popplio have been drafted in as support. The new ‘team battle’ mode lets you assemble a three-Pokemon team and the ‘group match’ feature helps you find opponents of a similar skill. Master the single player Ferrum League, get stuck in to ranked online battles, or grab a sofa and share your Joy-Cons for a local match with your mates.

The Longest Five Minutes is unlike any other RPG on the list due to its risk-taking by providing a different style of gameplay. In this game, players make choices in their character’s memories that ultimately change the present, allowing multiple story paths and outcomes.

Game UK has eight console bundles that start at £400 with free shipping. Very also has the console for £280 and bundles starting at £310. Amazon UK had the system available for £279 with free shipping to buyers in the UK, but is currently out of stock, though third-party sellers are offering it for around £280 and up.

This has caused some retailers to try new things when selling the system. Amazon briefly had the systems but only for Prime subscribers. There are also many new accounts in the third-party seller section with no feedback that are selling the system for far below market cost. Stay far away from these. The price seems to start around $400 for legit third-party offerings; look for sellers with a long history of positive feedback.

Those waiting for a new instalment in Nintendo’s super-fast F-Zero series of racing games will find lots to like here. Developer Shin’en has a reputation for pushing Nintendo systems to their graphical limits; RMX offers silky-smooth futuristic racing at extremely high speeds. Its clever colour-shifting mechanic – you have to flip between two exhaust colours to trigger speed boosts – at times makes it feel like a racing version of cult shooter Ikaruga.

SteamWorld Dig 2 is a textbook example of everything a sequel should be: bigger, smarter, and just straight up more fun. Guiding Dorothy through SWD 2’s labyrinthine caverns searching for loot and upgrades is a challenging and charming twist on the classic “Metroidvania” style and has a gameplay loop that will undoubtedly keep you up into the wee hours of the morning for “just one more run”. – Zachary Ryan

Play your games wherever. Sounds like an easy thing to ignore, but trust me you will get used to it fast and love the fact that you can play while waiting for that lazagna you just put in the oven. At a picnic? Play Switch with your family. Fishing? Play at your own risk – but it’s possible. On a plane? Go ahead! In bed? That’s right. There isn’t an infinite library of games at the moment, but there are already good enough games that will keep you busy as newer titles arrive. Zelda is an obvious choice, but check out Shovel Knight, Fast RMX and Snake Pass on the eShop. Mario Kart is also right around the corner! Battery is fair for a device of this caliber. WiFi signal is strange, though… get an ethernet to USB adapter for online gaming when docked. You may have one from the Wii and Wii U era. I have a gaming PC but haven’t turned it on much since Switch release day. It’s amazing. I highly recommend it the console!

Splatoon 2 is a multiplayer shooter unlike any other, and it’s exactly the charming outing you’d expect from Nintendo. Instead of bullets, your weapons are filled with coloured ink used to splat your enemies and cover the environment in paint.

Also, unlike some other cases, the Hori Tough Pouch strikes a gentle balance between protection and convenience. Because you only put your Switch into it when you’re done playing, it doesn’t change how you grip the console or its Joy-Con controllers.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a turn-based tactical role-playing video game where kids are encouraged to rely on their critical thinking skills. The game features both single and multiplayer modes and features characters from the beloved Mario and Raving Rabbids series.

The Nintendo Switch is by far the best gaming console for kid’s on today’s market. Nintendo has always had a brand that was loyal to families, assuring that it had more games that focused less on realism and violence, but more so on the pure fun that anyone can play.

This Nintendo switch is the off spring of the wii u and Nintendo 3ds ! It’s a hybrid between both devices! Nintendo was trying to make this item and ran out of time and made one of mock ups! But they got it right this time! The maneuverability is great I take it where ever when ever! Haven’t taken it to a friends house yet but I imagine the only hiccup will be getting the dock’s hdmi wire and power adapter out of the spaghetti of wires behind my entertainment table ! Any way I love it you’ll love! It gets expensive real fast though! You only get the console, control combiner thing and wires in box! No games. I hate the feel of the controls when in dock mode so I bought the pro controller! Separately ! You have to buy a game! Separately ! You want to protect you new switch you have to buy case and screen protector! Separately ! But it’s worth it! I would recommend this device to everyone and I will soon be ready to purchase another one but I’m waiting until Best Buy bundles the switch with atleast a game! I give it 5stars!

Every Nintendo fan has been waiting for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild ever since it was announced for Wii U over four years ago. Now it’s finally here and on the Nintendo Switch, it has to be known that this is not only the best Zelda title ever, it’s one of the greatest ever made. Not since The Witcher 3 made open-world games feel fresh again has something come along and blown the template out of the water.

Taking part of the No More Heroes franchise, Grasshopper Manufacture is releasing Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes exclusively on the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2018. With that said, you can expect an over-the-top hack-and-slash experience.

Giving the old formula a bit of a refresh, this game sees the traditional Power Ups replaced with a new companion for Mario called Cappy. This sentient hat is Mario’s weapon and friend and he can be used to possess enemies and objects to solve puzzles and defeat foes.

Anyone looking for a Metroidvania game to play on the Switch while they wait for Metroid Prime 4 to arrive needs to take a look at Steamworld Dig 2. While the story is connected to Steamworld Dig, Steamworld Dig 2’s adventure can be played with no prior knowledge of what came before as the only real link are the characters involved. Steamworld Dig 2 really becomes addictive as you hunt down every upgrade you can find, along with mining resources and cashing them in back in town. If you like roguelikes and Metroidvania titles, this is an essential purchase for your Switch.

There’s plenty to choose from on the Switch but here we’ve narrowed it down to the best. We’re constantly on the look out for the latest and greatest Switch games so keep checking back here as this list will be frequently updated.

This has caused some retailers to try new things when selling the system. Amazon briefly had the systems but only for Prime subscribers. Nintendo is going to want a big line and a big party, so it’s almost guaranteed they’re going to have some systems to sell during the midnight launch, but that’s also going to be the most challenging line. If you feel like stopping by this week, however, you may be able to get a demo of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

This Nintendo Switch bundle comes with a carry case that is ideal if you’re taking the Switch out of the home and it has space for game cartridges and accessories too. You’re also getting a play stand which will make it easier putting the console in a viewable position wherever you are. View this bundle at Amazon.

Wonderful console! Love every second of playing this. Legend of Zelda was worth the purchase alone. Was a bit skeptical of getting it first day (managed to pre order) but Best Buy delivered on time, was very satisfied and relived. Any one on the fence about this console should get it.

As a “match-three” game, Battle Chef Brigade goes above and beyond the call. Anime characters are superimposed on soft backgrounds featuring wet washes of paint pooled over textured paper, set to a lilting orchestral soundtrack not unlike a Miyazaki score.

Suprise! The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild earned a spot on the best Switch games list, and it might easily be the most impressive launch game of the last decade. Simply put, Breath of the Wild redefines the open world video game in a way we didn’t think was possible. By giving players a massive world to explore, and the ability to define their journey by their own terms, Nintendo has designed one of the most widely-celebrated sandbox games of this generation. It’s quite an achievement, and a game full of mystery and delectable discoveries to uncover.

With its birds-eye-view camera and 16-bit art direction, The Longest Five Minutes pays tribute to the 1990s RPG games of the past. The charming heartwarming story to be a practical RPG style game, filled with light-hearted comedy, unique characters and emotional storytelling that makes it an instant classic. The game makers behind The Longest Five Minutes are RPG fans themselves and have made a game specifically for fans that grew up playing them during their most prevalent decades.

A gentle farming role-playing game that begins with someone chucking in their corporate cubicle job to run away to the country and live off the land. Stardew Valley is unquestionably the best value indie game on Switch: a full farming year lasts 20 hours and you can continue playing it pretty much indefinitely. Beware: during quiet moments at work, you may find yourself hiding in the toilets in order to harvest virtual strawberries.

Splatoon 2 is a team-based, third-person shooter where players use colored ink to attack opponents and beat goals. Players can transform into squids and navigate through the ink that splattered in order to avoid detection. Various game modes include an online and offline multiplayer Turf War battle where players must cover the entire level with ink. The game features a variety of different weapons and is just as fun and intense as the more popular shooters on the market.

Have you played all of your Nintendo Switch games and you’re looking for a bit more fun? I know how pricey they can be, especially if you’re on a budget. Sixty dollars on a game seems a bit high, but I have found some great games currently on sale for your pleasure!

If you don’t want to be part of the mad dash to snag one at local stores, here are some places that are still selling the Switch and its goodies online. Many of them have much higher prices than you might find at your local store, though.

Need to warm up your dancing feet for an impending party or wedding? Well look no further than Just Dance 2018, which moonwalks onto Switch with official licenses (Disney anyone?), as well as all the hottest tracks and artists, including such notables as Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. The game isn’t just for seasoned dancers either, with a top Kids Mode delivering children-friendly choreographies and a dance playground.

Great console with functionality, but lack of great games for now. Easy to setup, handy for two players, although the L and R buttons on the joy-con a bit hard to reach. The only thing i don’t like is the stand at the back, it is quite flimsy, and there is no rubber cover to protect the microsd when the stand is opened. Overall it is a great console!

Super Mario Odyssey is by far the best Nintendo Switch game for kids due to its huge 3D kingdoms, diverse environments, fluid sandbox and entertaining gameplay. The new installment of the Mario series includes a ton of items and costumes for Mario to collect and a new way of playing by controlling object, characters and animals (dogs, dinosaurs, etc.) with your hat.

The Nintendo Switch officially went on sale this past March for $299.99. But it’s been difficult, if not impossible, for gamers to get their hands on the hot new console—especially at the regular price.

Doom may be one of the most unexpected additions to Nintendo’s console we’ve seen so far, yet it translates surprisingly well to the Switch. Don’t expect the resolution to be as sharp as what you’d get on a more powerful console or PC, but this roaringly fast-paced shooter shines in handheld mode. There’s also some integration with the Joy-Cons motion controls for performing glory kills.

With nearly 50 industry-leading video game publishers already putting their support behind Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo’s own much-anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild heading to their new platform, expect a breadth of exciting new gameplay experiences when the console launches in March 2017, and the coming years.

Settings: Controllers and settings of a game really matter. Be sure to go for those games that are versatile and allow a single player mode, two player mode, and multiplayer mode. There are times when you are alone and bored. But if your Nintendo switch game allows you to play with the “computer”, then believe me; boredom will not be your friend.

I haven’t really been a Nintendo player since the GameCube. I dabbled in the Wii but didn’t own one. The system feels and plays great. The modular design of the joy con is very cool and playing in handheld mode is an experience unrivalled by anyone. Zelda and Mario Kart are both probably the best entries in their respective franchises from my experience. Arms, Splatoon, Mario Odyssey, etc – although not yet released as of the time of this writing – all look to be of a similar high quality. Very happy to be an owner and to see Nintendo re-reach its prime.

While Nintendo traditionally designs its flagship consoles just for at-home play, the Switch is meant to be portable as well. A tablet smaller than an iPad mini houses the system’s core technology, allowing you to take the Switch on the go or slide it into its accompanying dock for TV gaming.

Convenience: Before you buy a Nintendo switch game, make sure it is handheld and can be used anywhere, at any time. In fact, most people go for these games because of their portability. Remember, fun is everywhere and so you will want to take the game with you.

There’s not much we can say at this point when it comes to the untitled Yoshi game. The series is well beloved by gamers of old and new with the character featured in a number of his own video games throughout the years.

Nintendo Switch cases come in different flavors. Joy-Con protectors keep your Nintendo Switch’s controllers from getting damaged in a fall. Nintendo Switch is a gaming console that gives you the portability of a handheld device with the power of a home gaming system. At home, Nintendo Switch rests in the Nintendo Switch Dock that connects the system to your TV and lets you play with family and friends in the comfort of your living room. By simply lifting Nintendo Switch from the dock, the system will instantly transition to portable mode, and the same great gaming experience that was being enjoyed at home can travel with you wherever you go. The mobility of Nintendo Switch is enhanced by its bright high-definition display.

Born out of Harvest Moon, it makes perfect sense that Stardew Valley fits right at home on the Switch. The farming life sim is wonderfully open ended, letting you forge your own country path fishing, fighting, farming, and falling in love. Additionally, being able to take advantage of the Switch’s sleep mode helps take some of the pressure off of not being able to save in the middle of a day, even if a few other bugs in the port are still waiting to be squashed here. – Tom Marks

Led by former Castlevania series producer, Koji Igarashi, comes the upcoming action-adventure game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The video game is in the style of Metroidvania as you explore, craft new weapons, and of course, find new armor.

The adaptable Joy-Con offer multiple surprising new ways for players to have fun. Two Joy-Con can be used independently, one in each hand, or together as one game controller when attached to the Joy-Con grip. They can also attach to the main console for use in handheld mode, or be shared with friends to enjoy two-player action in supported games. Each Joy-Con has a full set of buttons and can act as a standalone controller, and each includes an accelerometer and gyroscope motion sensor, making independent left and right motion control possible.
