If you’ve been playing a lot of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with friends, you’ve probably already discovered that using a single Joy-Con horizontally starts to hurt your hands pretty fast. Myriann makes a cover for your Joy-Con controllers that make them more like a mini version of the Grip for each side. The horizontal design make it easy for you to access the L and R buttons, which is important for drifting and throwing items in Mario Kart Deluxe 8.

If you’re a fan of detective stories then L.A. Noire is definitely worth your time, as the game tasks you with solving a number of crimes in the Homicide, Vice and Arson divisions of the LAPD. How you tackle each case though is completely up to you, with various options and outcomes possible. Interrogating witnesses or potential suspects plays a major part in the game, and determining who is telling the truth and who is lying critical to getting the job done properly. Naturally, for a Rockstar game, there is also plenty of firefights. This enhanced Switch version of the game is not only full fat and truly portable, but comes stacked with all of the game’s previously released DLC.

Console bundles have been getting a lot of coverage lately, with Microsoft and Sony in particular offering major deals on Xbox One and PSVR bundles this month. The new Xbox One PUBG bundle is already discounted from $299.99 to $249, after only being on the market for a few days. An Xbox One Madden NFL 18 bundle is down to $229.99 now that football season is over. All PSVR bundles are discounted $100 until March 3. When it comes to Nintendo Switch bundles, pretty much anything you can get is better than nothing. Grab a free travel case when you pick up the Switch at Walmart.

Super Mario Odyssey is Mario’s first real outing on the Nintendo Switch and he makes his debut in style. Odyssey is a 3D sandbox adventure that sees Mario travel between a wide range of worlds to save Princess Peach from the nefarious and maritally-minded Bowser.

The retailer’s site only has a “coming soon” page live and a list of games or accessories to buy, and after calling a few locations I was told that there was no online pre-order, meaning every single one of the systems that Toys R Us is receiving will be going to a walk-in. We were also told that there will be no midnight openings for the hardware’s release.

The Nintendo Switch is by far the best gaming console for kid’s on today’s market. Nintendo has always had a brand that was loyal to families, assuring that it had more games that focused less on realism and violence, but more so on the pure fun that anyone can play.

The only downside to the Switch at this point, would be the lack of extra features. There are many great launch titles like Zelda and Mario Kart to enjoy, but the Nintendo eShop is pretty limited with downloadable content. Many times I found myself wishing that there was a YouTube app or Netflix, much like what the Wii U had, but there is nothing to offer at this point. I also miss the social aspect that was included in the Wii U. The MiiVerse for example, was a great way to meet other people to game with, share posts and clips of gameplay, but these are mysteriously absent from the Switch. There is a basic friends list to add people on, but not much more.

One good thing about Super Bomberman R is that it takes advantage of the Nintendo Switch System capabilities. Well, this allows gamers to play whenever, wherever, and whoever they choose to play with. In this game, there is a battle mode where up to eight players are dropped within a particular maze until the last player to survive is declared the ultimate winner. This game also has a story mode that allows 1- 2 players to work together to clear a series of 50 stages with the purpose of saving the galaxy.

The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid games console that you can play on your TV and also take on the go, thanks to a built-in display and a set of detachable controllers. In our full review, we praised the system’s impressively versatile design and ease of use, through we had some concerns about the system’s controllers.

If you’ve ever played a Harvest Moon game, you’re already familiar with the premise of Stardew Valley. Stardew Valley is an addictive farming simulator which sees you interact with townees to the point where you can literally marry them.

BD&A offers a snap-on folio that covers the display when not in use and gives the Switch a few more options when in its kickstand mode for portable gameplay. If you plan to travel a lot with your Switch, this $24 accessory is perfect for keeping it safe.

Possibly not! Remember how the Joy-Con controller splits in two? Turn them sideways and you get two basic controllers, each with their own analogue stick and face buttons – the d-pad acts as face functions on the left controller. So far we’ve seen 2K’s NBA series, Snipper Clips and Mario Kart being used this way for local multiplayer in both docked and tablet modes. So you get multiplayer functionality straight out of the box with no additional purchase required.

The Nintendo Switch is by far the most dissapointing Nintendo console they ever made. The lack of games is the biggest problem. There are very few games on the console and the best games , Zelda Breath of the wild and Mario Kart 8 are also available on the Wii U system which makes it even more useless. There is also many rports of problems with the stand and scratch made to the screen and problems with the controllers. I dont recommend buying this console unless you are a huge Nintendo fan.

At times it’s hard to believe something like this is running on Nintendo’s portable console as you climb vast mountains and trawl through dark industrial cities. It’s one of Monolith Soft’s finest efforts yet, and feels right at home on Switch.

A boxing game like you’ve never played before, ARMS lets players take on friends on the couch or online and take full advantage of the Joy-Con’s motion controls. Throwing punches with twists and turns to bend your character’s spaghetti-esque mitts, there’s a surprising level of strategy involved in what at first looks like a simple bash-em-up.

There’s a gadget out there for every type of Switch owner, from cases and battery packs for portable players to extra controllers and docks for folks who game at home. Here are the best Nintendo Switch accessories you can buy right now.

Rocket League is the only game I’ve played that’s captured the truly exciting bits of soccer for me. The vast majority of (the admittedly few) sports games I’ve played are so beholden to seasonal statics that I’m just always so bored because I can’t be bothered to keep up with the annual Who’s Who of professional leagues. Rocket League’s touch of zaniness allows it to focus on the bare essentials of the game: there are the players, a ball, and two goals. There are no stat games here. No managing players. No fluff. Just soccer…with turbo-powered RC cars, and it’s all the better and more accessible for that.—Javy Gwaltney

  1. FIFA 18 is by far the best sports game on the Nintendo Switch and features beautiful lifelike graphics and engaging gameplay that looks like an actual soccer game. Kids will be excited to know that the game offers a mode where they can create their own players and teams.
The same price applies to games like “Skylanders Imaginators,” though there are a small handful of lower-priced games (“Snipperclips” is $19.99, for instance). But let’s be honest: You’re going to want “Zelda.”
Screen protectors add a glossy surface to the Switch display, which is not ideal for a portable gaming system. Keeping the display safe when this tablet is not in its dock should be handled the same way we handle any other tablet — with a good folio case.
