2018 is quickly approaching and with it will come a slew of new video game titles to look forward to playing. With that said, now’s a good time to start marking down what video games to keep an eye on when they officially launch next year. Let us lend a hand, in this list, in particular, we’re going over the top Nintendo Switch video games launching in 2018.
For any kid that loves adventurous explorations, The Legend of Zelda: Breadth of the Wild is by far the best game on the list. The award-winning game features a beautiful humungous world in a sandbox environment where players can explore on their terms without time constraints.
At times it’s hard to believe something like this is running on Nintendo’s portable console as you climb vast mountains and trawl through dark industrial cities. It’s one of Monolith Soft’s finest efforts yet, and feels right at home on Switch.
Well Nintendo’s new console is here, if you are looking for the way to play Zelda this is it. Not a single problem with it so far and the joycons that come with it are fun to use, although for someone who doesn’t have giant hands they do feel rather small. The only problem is the current lack of many games, but that’s typical of any launch. If you are reading this you already know if you are going to be getting a Switch, It’s worth it just for Zelda so far.
In this case, you’ve got two choices: buy another pair of Joy-Con, or buy a Nintendo Switch Pro controller. We’d suggest the latter: It’s a far more traditional gamepad, thus offering you a second option when you’re playing on the TV as well as solving the multiplayer problem, and it costs $10 less than buying a second pair of Joy-Con.
ARMS might just be Nintendo at its weirdest and we absolutely love it for that. While fans may be clamoring for a new entry in the Smash Brothers Franchise, ARMS turned the fighting genre on it’s ear by introducing a truly wacky cast of characters and the mechanics to match. Hopping, blocking and… missiling your way through each round has proved to be one of the most unique and entertaining experiences on the Switch to date. – Zachary Ryan
This upcoming title will retain the classic turn-based battle system with an added ability of a Boost system. The boost system will allow players to attack an enemy multiple times during a turn if enough Boost Points are acquired.
One of the core benefits of the Nintendo Switch is that it’s a portable system. Of course, that means you’ll be battling against that most formidable of enemies – battery life. The Antank Portable Switch Battery case offers 6500mAh of additional charging power, which more than doubles your on-the-go play time without adding an overly significant amount of bulk or weight. It strikes the right balance between battery capacity and portability. Also, this case has enough durability that it will add in some extra protection for your Switch.
When it’s time to head out and meet your friends, simply slide the Switch gaming system out of the dock and take it with you on the go. If you want to take on your buddy in your favourite game, place the Switch on a table top and detach the wireless joycon contollers from each side to start your multiplayer game!
One good thing about Super Bomberman R is that it takes advantage of the Nintendo Switch System capabilities. Well, this allows gamers to play whenever, wherever, and whoever they choose to play with. In this game, there is a battle mode where up to eight players are dropped within a particular maze until the last player to survive is declared the ultimate winner. This game also has a story mode that allows 1- 2 players to work together to clear a series of 50 stages with the purpose of saving the galaxy.
Thumper’s difficulty is suffocating. Along with the oppressive music and the stark graphics, it turns the game into a claustrophobic, stressful, frightening experience. It rattles around inside my brain when I’m not playing it, its velocity and brutality careening throughout as I try to unwind after playing. Thumper taps into art’s ability to alter our consciousness, introducing a new reality for us to get lost in, and it’s not afraid to let this dream world look and feel like a nightmare. Most rhythm games want to replicate the best time you could possibly have at a rave; Thumper wants you to feel like you’re shaking on the floor of a bathroom stall, praying for those weird shapes and sounds that surround you to go away. It is an essentially perfect realization of its own unique goals and concerns, and a game we’ll be playing and celebrating for decades.
The new game is also a great way of playing the game in multiplayer. You can play online, split-screen with up to four players or link up to eight consoles together to play multiplayer wirelessly (where you can also play with up to two players per console).
Since I got this at launch I’ve already played dozens and dozens of hours. I really like this system, and the ability for it to switch from TV mode to portable mode in an instant is frankly incredible. Games are coming out at a steady clip, so just as I’m starting to get bored of one title a new one comes out that I can focus all my attention on. Accessories are really expensive, but generally high quality from what I’ve seen. Battery kind of sucks, but I have a portable battery charger that is able to provide it with several more hours of power. My left joy-con is having connectivity problems occasionally, but Nintendo apparently has a way you can send it in to get fixed. I’ve just not done it yet. If you like Nintendo games this is probably a no-brainer. I have few reservations about recommending this system. The biggest one being that if you aren’t very interested in Nintendo games you may just wanna pass this by. There are some good third party games, but if you don’t like Nintendo’s games you probably wont like the third party exclusives since they follow a similar thread of gameplay over anything else.

Nintendo said more than 50 game software makers are developing 80 titles for the Switch. Of those, eight will be available at the time of launch in Japan, including “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”
The video game will follow an orphan named Miriam who has been cursed by an alchemist which is slowly turning her skin into crystal. In order to stop the curse, she must explore a castle to find the summoner of this curse, Gebel, who as it turns out had suffered the same condition.
We’re not quite sure how the Nintendo Switch has managed it, but we’re not even getting started with all the games that the console has on offer. Overwhelming much? To help you decide what to buy for your brand spankin’ new console, we’ve listed the best titles available on the switch in ascending order from 25 to the hallowed number one spot. Oh, plus if even Bowser can’t hold back your excitement for Nintendo’s newest console, you’ll want to take a look at our upcoming Nintendo Switch games to see just what’s on the horizon.
I know, you could just get a Pro Controller instead of dropping another $79 on these, but I think it’s a better investment to get a second pair of Joy-Cons because you can split them into four controllers for epic multiplayer games.
Players control one main character out of a party of three in an open world environment in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The action role-playing game includes a streamlined real-time action-based combat system that requires quick decision making for utilizing each character’s abilities such as magic, healing and blunt force attacks. Players have to keep a close eye on their companions, waiting for cool down periods and opportunities to attack. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 includes a soundtrack with performances by the Bratislava Symphony Choir, giving it a more epic and emotional feel with each choreographed action scene and quest.

There’s a strong case to be made for why the Switch will be worth it for Nintendo devotees and casual gamers alike. The company’s long-running exclusive franchises like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. and The Legend of Zelda are usually enough to lure Nintendo loyalists on their own, although it’s worth noting that the new Zelda game will be available for the Wii U as well. Another bonus for Nintendo fans: those who subscribe to the company’s online service will also get to play a free NES or SNES game for a month.
Games with fewer than 7 reviews are not eligible for inclusion. Note that games are ranked by Metascore prior to rounding. The Metascore is a weighted average of critic reviews on a scale of 0 (bad) to 100 (good). All scores are from December 31, 2017.
To the right is the Nintendo Switch tracker. To be alerted when one of these items is in stock or available for pre-order, make sure to add that item to your account and turn on the corresponding stock status toggles.
When the Nintendo Switch launched in March, some jokingly called it a “Zelda machine.” That’s because there wasn’t much of a reason to buy the console other than to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Your hunt may not be in vain, but I also wouldn’t want to get your hopes up; Nintendo is sure to have problems meeting demand during the first day, no matter how the system does in the long term. The good news is that Nintendo is going to ship two million systems worldwide at launch, so there is always at least a slim chance you can luck into one. We’re hoping that more retailers announce availability for walk-in customers and day one allocation as we get closer to Friday’s launch.
If you’re going to be taking your Switch on the go (and who isn’t?) then you probably want a good case to keep it protected. The Mumba Nintendo Switch case is a sturdy, rubber case that has a good grip to minimize the chance you’ll drop it. And should the unthinkable happen, the bumper is made of shock-handling thermoplastic polyurethane to keep your baby safe.
Nintendo always brings amazing experience out of its own studios, and the Switch has already seen some of the best games of all time in its first year. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Fire Emblem Warriors, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the astounding Super Mario Odyssey have all wowed us.
Retailers like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Toys R Us, and GameStop are getting new Switch supplies in stores here and there. It’s worth popping in to see if you get lucky, and worth chatting up store managers, with the hope they’ll tip you off about an upcoming shipment. For example, this Sunday, Target is reportedly getting shipments — but how many at each store is anyone’s guess.
The Nintendo Switch absolutely represents the future of home consoles. I use the word “home” loosely, as what you have here is an extremely powerful portable unit as well. Out of the box, you’ll be surprised just how compact this unit really is. Set it up next to your TV and you’ll be saying “is that all?”. If you’ve owned other consoles in the past, you’ll know what I mean. You barely even see it. Add the small SD sized games, and even your storage needs for games is a tiny space. The unit with JoyCons attached feels solid in your hands. Separated with JoyCons on the joining controller it also feels solid. Adults will note that the joycon fits a bit smaller in the hands, but you will quickly get used to it. The thing is, this is a console for all of the family, so having a controller that can be used by everyone is important. The Switch starts up fast, looks great on the screen (both TV and console), and does what it’s told when it is told. The simple interface on the console is a cinch for anyone to navigate. It will even start your TV up when you put the console on — without having to even set it up that way. Games look great no matter how you play. The connection is solid – never been an issue. Absolutely no regrets and a ton of fund playing Zelda and Imaginators. Can’t wait for more games – but to be honest these two will keep us going for awhile. No Netflix (yet) but I have it elsewhere. Would be nice though to take it on vacation – I imagine they will add it in the future. Love the Nintendo Switch! Rivals the NES as their best ever!!!!
