The Nintendo Switch is smaller than expected, as are the Joy-Con controllers. My three girls, however, don’t care. Used fro an average of four to five hours per night, the ability to just pick it up and play it on your lap has allowed us to “watch” TV together with one person glued to Zelda: Breath of the Wind. So why do I need a new TV? While the portable mode is fun and enjoyable for one, the girls like to watch each other play and for that, a TV is pretty necessary. While we only have one game at the moment we have four more on pre-order. For fans of the Nintendo world, this is a worthwhile purchase. For fans of Zelda, it’s a necessary purchase.
And this is easily the best portable edition to date, not only packing in huge worlds on the Switch’s capable screen, but also giving you the full range of controls, featuring eight-player online antics, and bundling in a superb set of Super Mario-themed blocks and skins.

I have no issues with my switch and my screen is still not scratch but a good screen protector is not a bad idea. If you get the Zelda game you will be tempted to take the switch with you so also get a case for the Switch. If you are use to hand held gaming on the Vita or 3DS you will be ok with the controls but if you only game on consoles you should pick up the pro controller.

Super Mario Odyssey is by far the best Nintendo Switch game for kids due to its huge 3D kingdoms, diverse environments, fluid sandbox and entertaining gameplay. The new installment of the Mario series includes a ton of items and costumes for Mario to collect and a new way of playing by controlling object, characters and animals (dogs, dinosaurs, etc.) with your hat.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe packs in a staggering 48 courses and 42 playable drivers, along with an array of vehicles and equipment, and the gravity-defying tracks are some of the series’ most dazzling creations to date. The familiar pairing mechanic that lets you take advantage your fellow combatant’s skills and attributes is also present in this game. Fans will appreciate the game’s History Mode, which is a set of maps based on classic Fire Emblem titles.
Want to play games with other people? You can do this right out of the box, actually, by turning each of the Joy-Con on its side and using those as individual gamepads. It’s a less-than-great solution — they’re tiny, uncomfortable, and easily dropped.
