The grand old first person shooter arrives confidently on Nintendo Switch, with the hyper violence, lightning fast combat, and awesome heavy metal soundtrack from the well-received PC, PS4 and Xbox One title firmly in tact. Resolution and texture fidelity is slightly in comparison, however, it makes literally no difference to the gameplay and superb art style, which combine to produce an exhilarating, monster-filled adrenaline rush like nothing else on the system. Plus, the fact that you can go portable with the Switch, slaying daemons while on the go, makes this edition of DOOM unique.
Built from the ground up specifically for the Nintendo Switch, FIFA 18 provides an immersive gaming experience with a high definition presentation. Players have multiple gameplay options, allowing for offline multiplayer play with the Joy-Con controllers. There’s also single-player and even an online mode to face off other players. Super Mario Odyssey was more than worth the wait and is another fine addition to the growing collection of quality Nintendo Switch exclusives. Savings are at a minimum here, but seeing as this game should amongst your most wanted, this bundle is a great place to start.
Looking for a cheap Nintendo Switch with at least one game? We’ve seen this bundle for less, but if the other bundles sell out, then this is a decent alternative, especially as Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is still quite new. This is available with the red/blue edition of the Nintendo Switch at Currys.
Along with Yoshi, Luigi, and Peach, Mario joins forces with the Rabbids (who started life in Rayman and went on to star in their own series) to solve puzzles and and fight enemies in a world that combines elements from both franchises.
Nintendo Switch’s main component is the Switch Console, a tablet-shaped device that’s packed with cutting-edge hardware. Slide the Switch Console into the Switch Dock and you’ll enjoy a complete, high-definition gaming experience on your TV.
The huge open world provides players with endless hours of play and exploration. The graphics are gorgeous and the world is intricately designed so it never ceases to be interesting. True to the franchise, players will encounter plenty of challenging puzzles and easter eggs along their journey.
If you only buy one multiplayer Switch title, make it Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. You know the drill: Choose an iconic Nintendo character, jump in a modded kart, and win at all costs. The deluxe version of the game includes new racers and battle modes, plus all those dazzling weapons and power-ups (beware the blue shell).
While it might be a port of a 2014 Wii U exclusive, that doesn’t detract from the fact Bayonetta 2 is one of the best games of the previous genration, and retooled for Nintendo Switch it’s now getting a second shot at glory. The new version runs smoother than the Wii U original, rarely drops a frame in TV or handheld modes, and comes with all the Nintendo-themed costumes for ass-kicking witch heroine Bayonetta you could possibly hope for.
One good thing about Super Bomberman R is that it takes advantage of the Nintendo Switch System capabilities. Well, this allows gamers to play whenever, wherever, and whoever they choose to play with. In this game, there is a battle mode where up to eight players are dropped within a particular maze until the last player to survive is declared the ultimate winner. This game also has a story mode that allows 1- 2 players to work together to clear a series of 50 stages with the purpose of saving the galaxy.
The Nintendo Switch is the hottest console out right now, and it’s not showing any signs of slowing down. Nintendo’s hybrid machine is home to such hits as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2, all of which you can enjoy on your big TV or take on the go. And with a diverse library that includes indies like Stardew Valley and Rocket League and mature AAA romps like Doom and Bayonetta, you’ll have no trouble finding something that suits your tastes.
Nintendo Switch is a gaming console that gives you the portability of a handheld device with the power of a home gaming system. At home, Nintendo Switch rests in the Nintendo Switch Dock that connects the system to your TV and lets you play with family and friends in the comfort of your living room. By simply lifting Nintendo Switch from the dock, the system will instantly transition to portable mode, and the same great gaming experience that was being enjoyed at home can travel with you wherever you go. The mobility of Nintendo Switch is enhanced by its bright high-definition display.

It’s a pricey investment at $110, but it is a perfect accessory for the Switch gamer on the go that also has style. It comes in black ballistic nylon with black leather, black ballistic nylon with chocolate leather, and my personal favorite, waxed canvas with chocolate leather.

The second Dynasty Warriors-inspired collaboration between Tecmo Koei and Nintendo, Fire Emblem Warriors adds some key elements that make it a better game than its predecessor, Hyrule Warriors. From the weapons triangle to class-based powers and weaknesses to the ability to issue units combat orders right from the map, Fire Emblem’s core-franchise strategy elements make for a much more engaging action game. Here’s hoping it will get the same great post-launch support and flesh out the limited character roster to bring more of our favorites across. – Peer Schneider
Having the systems in stock is a big enough deal that retailers are tweeting about when they will go on sale, so be sure to follow as many as possible if you’re still on the hunt and have time to scan Twitter to see if you can catch the news in advance.
I was excited to buy this but the only games in the library are basically games I can already play on the Wii U or 3DS. My son quickly returned to his 3DS. Might get better use out of it in the future. For now, the joy cons are okay but not great and the pro controller seems overpriced so I will not be purchasing it unless it is on sale. Still love Nintendo but I regret being an early adopter on this console. I should have waited for a significant price drop or a bundle with a great game. If you are on the fence, I recommend holding out an hoping for a Mario Odyssey later on.

Honestly, I was a little worried about Sonic Mania. SEGA and Sonic Team have burnt me in the past, perhaps one too many times. I needn’t have worried though. Sonic Mania is a stunning return to form for the blue hedgehog. While playing on the Switch doesn’t really put Nintendo’s console through its technical paces, the crisp sprites and bright colours of Sonic really help show off just how vibrant and crisp the Switch’s 720p display is. It’s perfect portable gaming magic.
