Mario Kart 8 began its life on Nintendo Wii U, however, the Deluxe edition on Switch is the ultimate version of the game, with all DLC included as well as enhanced multiplayer functionality. Mario and his chums handle just as well as ever, while the presentation and polish applied to the mixture of classic and new racing circuits is first rate. With a massive selection of racing tiers too, from 50cc up to 200cc, with mirror modes thrown in as well to boot, the game is super approachable no matter your age or skill.
Players get two universes in one with this Switch game: Mario and Ubisoft’s Rabbids. The gameplay is easy to learn but still challenging and there are plenty of puzzles to conquer. The turn-based Mario + Rabbids is a great mix of comedy and strategy.
After being burned by the terrible product that was the WiiU, which I bought on launch day and waited more than a year with zero decent games, the Switch is a welcome change. My console arrived on launch day with no shipping issues and does not have any of the notable problems. I did add some felt to the dock in order to prevent any scratching, but it was mainly a precaution. The Switch transitions seamlessly between console and portable more and the OS is extremely responsive. It’s definitely not a thin and light tablet, but it works very well. Would love a browser and some additional functionality in order to travel with this as my main tablet. Looking forward to many exciting games!
If you have active kids who like to move and groove, then Just Dance 2018 is the Nintendo Switch video game for them. Considered to be one of the best dancing game series, Just Dance 2018 features modern artists like Ariana Grande and Maroon 5 and players have to mimic dance styles in order to play.
Aside from letting you take a great game on the go, the Switch version of LA Noire has some neat features such as motion control support. This means you can pick up evidence at crime scenes and inspect it from every angle using the Joy-Con controllers.
I’d like to start by saying that it’s not like anything else out there in the gaming world. Nintendo has once again paved the way with a unique and fun ideas and executes it well. For people that are worried by the Wii U like tablet…there are no left-over ghosts of the Wii U here. The entire console is inside the tablet itself, which has a intensely powerful battery which gives you hours of gameplay on a high-definition screen. It’s very easy to set up the dock, which allows you to charge the tablet, but also play on a TV screen, just like any other console on the market. The beauty lies in being able to play a triple-A full console game on the TV, and then take it with you to bed, or out on the bus, or in the car etc. and still be able to continue your progress seamlessly. The Joycon Controllers are small and light, but very precise and provide excellent control. They’re unbelievably ergonomic and just feel right in your hands. They clip onto the sides of the tablet screen for off-screen play, but can easily be removed and used on their own for on-TV play.
Rocket League is the only game I’ve played that’s captured the truly exciting bits of soccer for me. The vast majority of (the admittedly few) sports games I’ve played are so beholden to seasonal statics that I’m just always so bored because I can’t be bothered to keep up with the annual Who’s Who of professional leagues. Rocket League’s touch of zaniness allows it to focus on the bare essentials of the game: there the players, a ball, and two goals. There are no stat games here. No managing players. No fluff. Just soccer…with turbo-powered RC cars, and it’s all the better and more accessible for that.—Javy Gwaltney
Look, Minecraft is Minecraft – and if you’ve already played Minecraft elsewhere, then you’re not going to find anything tremendously new here. But here’s the thing about Minecraft: it’s endlessly replayable and so packed with delight that it’s hard to resist the urge to have it at your fingertips at all times.
The biggest problem is the game’s price, which is the same as big budget triple-A games like The Legend of Zelda. For a multiplayer-only experience that’s a little bit steep, but if you see the game discounted anywhere then this is an excellent game to have on the Switch.

Granted it isn’t a perfect port: you can’t enjoy its most popular mode, Ultimate Team, without an internet connection, and The Journey is absent. But if you want to enjoy a brilliant game of football on a Nintendo platform, this is the best example of it.
Don’t underestimate this Wii U classic. It’s had an upgrade for the Switch. Decidueye brings the total playable Pokemon to 21 and Litten and Popplio have been drafted in as support. The new ‘team battle’ mode lets you assemble a three-Pokemon team and the ‘group match’ feature helps you find opponents of a similar skill. Master the single player Ferrum League, get stuck in to ranked online battles, or grab a sofa and share your Joy-Cons for a local match with your mates.
We don’t know how much stock Nintendo is holding back for the physical launch of the system, nor how many have been pre-sold. We’ll be updating this post as we get more information and retailers announce plans, but if you’re serious about your quest I would begin calling local retailers now to see if they have any information about how they’re handling lines or stock, and call daily until they know for sure.

Looking back, the Switch costs just as much as the Wii U did when it was released in 2012. It’s also $50 more expensive than the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, both of which are currently available for around $250. So is the Switch really worth it? The answer largely depends on your preferences and priorities, but here’s a look at what you should consider before buying.
Tight turns and big jumps in Fast RMX channel the best moments of F-Zero and the Wipeout series. This 60 frames-per-second racing game bundles all of the courses offered as DLC on the Wii U version plus six new tracks. Once you wrap your head around Fast RMX’s energy transfer system, where you have to quickly swap to the same matching color of a boost pad in order to get a burst of speed, you’ll have everything you take out your competitors online and in local matches.
Resident Evil Revelations takes you back to what happened between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, revealing the truth about the virus. With limited ammo and weapons, the race to survive is on for just $14.
Possibly not! Remember how the Joy-Con controller splits in two? Turn them sideways and you get two basic controllers, each with their own analogue stick and face buttons – the d-pad acts as face functions on the left controller. So far we’ve seen 2K’s NBA series, Snipper Clips and Mario Kart being used this way for local multiplayer in both docked and tablet modes. So you get multiplayer functionality straight out of the box with no additional purchase required.
There’s never really been a game console quite like this before, and with that in mind, there are some accessories out there that you might not normally think of. Whether your gaming on the go or planted on your couch, here are the best accessories for your Nintendo Switch.
The Switch Pro Controller is a fantastic traditional controller – any gamer that plays a lot of docked Switch games on their TV should strongly consider picking one up. Like the pack-in Joy-Con controller, it includes an NFC chip to use with Nintendo’s Amiibo as well as a share button, so there’s no lost functionality. At $70 it’s on the expensive side for a standard controller, but it’s an excellent pick for anyone looking for a reliable second controller.
You certainly understand what youre referring to. Man, this website is simply excellent! I cant wait to browse more of what youve got to share. Im actually delighted that I discovered this when I did since I had been truly starting to become tired with the total writing world. Youve turned me around, dude!
Honestly, I was a little worried about Sonic Mania. SEGA and Sonic Team have burnt me in the past, perhaps one too many times. I needn’t have worried though. Sonic Mania is a stunning return to form for the blue hedgehog. While playing on the Switch doesn’t really put Nintendo’s console through its technical paces, the crisp sprites and bright colours of Sonic really help show off just how vibrant and crisp the Switch’s 720p display is. It’s perfect portable gaming magic.
